Safety
The safety of all children in Next Gen Kids is our number one priority. In addition to a secure check-in process, every volunteer has passed a background check, interview, and training.
● Check-in before service with security sticker
● Must match parent/child sticker codes to be able to pickup your child
● Each service also has a security team in place during our Kids experiences.
Bible Teaching
Bible lessons are pre-viewed, vetted, and planned in a way to engage each child and share the Bible story in a creative way to help them easily understand the message and apply it to their lives regardless of age/grade level.
Fun
We have fun when your child is having fun! We take care to teach but also create a space for each child to enjoy a fun activity to help them laugh, smile, and better understand the day’s lesson. We look forward to having fun with your child in Next Gen Kids.
Before Coming to
Next Gen Kids
Before bringing your child to Next Gen Kids, please be sure to do the following:
●Visit the check-in area and get a security sticker
●Be sure your child's information is correct including contact info, allergies, and/or special needs
●Make sure you bring necessary items when dropping your child off in the nursery

Ready To Get Involved With The Gathering?
We would love to have you join the Next Gen Kids team. The first step is to fill out a New Serve Form on our website, complete a background check, and go through our training process. Once approved and complete, volunteers are able to work with our team in serving our children in Next Gen Kids.
What To Expect
When you arrive, head to the dedicated check-in area, check your child in, and then drop them off at their designated class.
Each area’s experience is similar but geared for their age group. Each experience includes worship, Bible lessons, Small Group breakouts, and activities.
You can pick up your child at their class at the end of each service. Each parent is required to show the parent tag in order to pick up their child. Each parent also receives a Parent Cue to help them engage their children in conversation to keep that same conversation going all week long.
We understand that children may want to have a comforting item when entering a new environment, so younger children are welcome to bring those with them. However, we ask that K-5th graders leave toys at home.
To maintain a safe and healthy environment for all children and volunteers, we request that parents adhere to these guidelines when deciding if their child is well enough to participate in Next Gen Kids at The Gathering.
Please keep your child at home if they have:
-
A fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher within the past 24 hours
-
Vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
-
A persistent cough, congestion, or difficulty breathing
-
An unexplained rash or skin infections
-
Conjunctivitis (pink eye) or other eye infections (red, watery, itchy, or draining eyes)
-
A runny nose with thick yellow or green mucus, especially with fever
-
A sore throat with fever or exposure to strep throat
-
Any communicable diseases such as flu, RSV, COVID-19, chickenpox, measles, hand-foot-mouth disease, etc.
-
Lice, ringworm, or other contagious conditions until treatment has been completed.
-
We provide a snack in our 2-year-old room and preschool room. If your child has any allergies, please let us know so we can accommodate them. Each classroom door will have a sign indicating if anything is being used in the classroom that morning that could affect allergies. If your child has an allergy, please inform our volunteer team.
Safety is a top priority here at The Gathering Church. Each child attending Next Gen Kids is checked in and out using our electronic check-in system. Each child is assigned a security number and is only released to guardians who have that number. All of our volunteers undergo background checks and training.
At the Gathering we use The Orange Curriculum, it is created and designed for children from birth through 12th grade. We believe that the Orange Curriculum supports not only the child but also the family. Its purpose is to equip church leaders and parents with resources and strategies to effectively partner together in shaping the faith and future of children and teenagers by aligning the church and home environments to create a lasting impact on their spiritual development.
